Take A Look Around The Famous Seattle Space Needle In New 360 Experience

Seattle’s famous Space Needle is the latest landmark to release an app for the virtual reality marketplace.

Since its opening as part of the 1962 World’s Fair, the Space Needle has become synonymous with the city and is not just Seattle’s most iconic structure but one of American’s most recognisable and culturally significant buildings.

A previous app released by the building’s management brought augmented reality (AR) elements, including enhanced photo opportunities to the tourist experience inside the tower. Now a new app Space Needle 360º offers owners of mobile based-VR devices a several free bird’s eye views of Seattle as if you were standing on the very spire of the Space Needle, walking around the building’s outer most ring or taking in the city by seaplane. They’re all ways to see Seattle as you’ve never seen it before in 360 degree video.

The tower’s VP of Marketing, Karen Olson had this to say about the launch. “At the Space Needle, we have a tech-forward brand. Over the past few years, we’ve launched a series of digital experiences that let our guests see and interact with the view. Now with our virtual reality app, our guests can enjoy some of the best views in Seattle and take the views to go!”

The app, co-created with photography studio PANOGS, is available now on the Apple and Google Play stores with the Google VR Cardboard viewer recommended to get the best experience. For more information visit www.spaceneedle.com/vr.
