Triangular Pixels Releases The Hatton Garden Heist for HTC Vive

Indie developer Triangular Pixels which VRFocus previously covered had created The Hatton Garden Heist at the recent Bossa Vive VR Game Jam earlier this month, has now made the videogame available to download from the studios website.

The Hatton Garden Heist is based on a recent robbery that took place in Hatton Garden, London a few months ago and was one of the UK’s largest robberies in years. The theme for the event was ‘Using the room space’ and Triangular Pixels thought of crawling through room vents and sneaking about as a great way of using the HTC Vive and its motion tracking Lighthouse system for this theme. Within the videogame the developer wanted to keep the tool selection as natural as possible so the inventory included: a torch for visibility, a crowbar to smash or open objects, powder to reveal lasers, wire cutters and a PDA for the menu. These tools could then be accessed by a fold-up carry case from a single button press.

The game is only available for the HTC Vive, so getting access to one may be tricky as HTC have only been sending development kits out to studios, in the run up to the head-mounted display’s (HMD) launch towards the end of the year.

Triangular Pixels consists of John Campbell and Katie Goode, and they are currently working on Smash Hit Plunder for the Gear VR smartphone-based HMD and Double Destruction, which was entered into the recent Oculus Mobile VR Jam 2015.

VRFocus will continue to report on any further announcements from Triangular Pixels as they happen.
