New Holodance Gameplay Showcases Dragons and New Mechanics

Indie developer narayana games is currently pushing for funding for its upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible videogame, Holodance. The studio has set up a new IndieGoGo campaign looking for $15,000 USD to bring the title to the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD). Funding for the title has admittedly started off slow, as it’s yet to reach the $1,000 barrier, but the developer still has some 47 days left to raise awareness and reach that goal. As part of that campaign new footage of that title has arrived, which can be seen below.

Nearly 9 minute of new gameplay can be seen here, notably introducing a brand new feature; dragons. In the past Holodance players have been tasked with using the HTC Vive’s position-tracked controllers to bat away orbs as they approach far away to the time of a beat. In this video, however, those orbs are now shot at the player by a dragon that hovers in the background.

Also revealed here is a brand new ‘arc-mechanic’, which changes up gameplay by tasking players with following an on-screen arc instead of simple catching orbs at the right moment.

  1. maybe a dance game should make you dance, not just make you look silly, i would call this holorythm, not holodance
