Skanska Believes AR “will be the next big step”

With the hype and interest surrounding the re-emergence of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technology looking set to continue, more industry professionals from various backgrounds are claiming how the two technologies will be part of their future business. Malcolm Stagg has recently been talking about AR’s future for his business.

In a recent article by Bimplus, Malcolm Stagg Director of Business Information Modelling (BIM) and digital engineering at Skanska UK spoke about how he saw AR and its uses for the company: “Augmented reality technology will be the next big step for the industry over the next couple of years, enabling us to go truly digital and truly paperless, giving people the right information at the right time. It’s very exciting.”


Skanska, is one of the world’s leading project development and construction groups and is famous in the UK for building iconic structures like 30 St Mary Axe (the Gherkin), Heron Tower, Barts and The Royal London hospitals and the QEII Bridge.
