Sony Discuss Project Morpheus at GDC Conference

Prior to Gamescom, in Cologne, Germany, there was a smaller show which some may have missed called the Game Developers Conference (GDC) Europe 2015. This was a much more trade focused event, with talks and discussions taking place rather than a more hands-on event like Gamescom. Now GDC has released the full Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) talk on About VR: Designing for Believability.

The session was held by John Foster, Senior Designer at SCEE, London Studios, the team currently developing virtual reality (VR) title, The Deep, VR Luge and The London Heist for the PlayStation 4’s Project Morpheus head-mounted display (HMD).

VRFocus originally liveblogged the session and now it can be viewed in full, with Foster discussing how maintaining immersion can make the role of a developer easier, and what new challenges must be overcome to ensure that feeling of presence isn’t lost for the player, showcasing the work the studio has done on the The Getaway VR demo which is part of The London Heist.
