Kôna Dev Talks Story, Survival, VR and More

It can be disheartening to see developer’s list virtual reality (VR) support as stretch goals for crowd-funding campaigns. It’s a struggle for many projects to hit their initial goals these days, let alone raise even more for what’s can only be described as a niche feature at present. Fortunately this wasn’t the case for indie developer Parabole’s campaign for its upcoming first-person adventure title, Kôna. The studio initially listed support as a stretch goal on its campaign – which ended up raising $44,271 CAD – but eventually decided to include it as part of the initial package.

It was an encouraging sign that the developer was taking VR support seriously. But that was over a year ago now; how has Kôna progressed since then? That’s what VRFocus spoke to Parabole CEO Alexandre Fiset about in this new interview. Fiset explains how the developer has approached VR for the title as well as expanding on some of its core mechanics. He also talks about the possibility of a PlayStation VR version of the title to go along with the already confirmed PC version that supports the Oculus Rift.

VRFocus will continue to follow Kôna closely, reporting back with any further updates on the title’s progress.
