Headmaster to Feature Story and Local Multiplayer Modes

Indie developer Frame Interactive is currently working on one of the first titles to have ever been announced for the upcoming PlayStation VR virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD), Headmaster. This first-person experience uses the kit’s head-tracking technology to allow players to hit footballs with their heads as they approach. You might think there’s only so much a developer could do with this central mechanic, but Frame Interactive has revealed that the title will feature a variety of modes, including single-player and multiplayer content.

Frame Interactive founder Ben Throop explained as much in Game Informer’s most recent issue, dedicated to VR. “There’s a solid single-player mode with a progression that builds story and character,” Throop said. “We’re working on other features as well that I’m really excited about, such as local multiplayer party mode where you take turns in the headset while your friends watch on the TV. Ultimately we want Headmaster to be a great gamer’s game, something anyone with a PlayStation VR would have fun with and enjoy sharing with friends.”

It’s not yet clear when Headmaster will be launching, though the PlayStation VR itself isn’t due until the first half of 2016. VRFocus will continue to follow the title closely, reporting back with the latest updates on its progress.
