Alienware Launch ‘Oculus Ready PC’ Pre-Order Campaign

Alienware, a subsidiary of Dell, has today launched the official pre-order campaign for its line of ‘Oculus Ready’ PCs. Itself billing the machines as ‘VR Capable’, Alienware has two systems in the range at present based on Intel i5 and Intel i7 processors.

These two new systems will join Alienware’s X51 range, but will differ from the selection of systems currently available. While the full specifications of the systems have not yet been announced – Alienware states further details will be made available next month – both will be equipped with Nvidia GeForce graphics cards that meet or exceed Oculus VR’s recommended specification for the consumer edition of the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD).

Oculus Ready PC

“Alienware’s X51 comes VR ready so you can experience the power and immersion of virtual reality gaming. Leading the way in innovation, these award winning systems use the latest technology, meeting the recommended spec for the Oculus Rift Headset and driving high performance gaming in both VR and in traditional PC gaming,” states an official Alienware mailout to parties who registered their interest in these systems.

Alienware has confirmed that these PCs will include a $200 discount voucher off the pre-order cost of an Oculus Rift, as was announced at CES last week. The company has stated that any PC system pre-ordered this month will arrive before the Oculus Rift HMD, which is set to launch in March. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on the forthcoming range of ‘Oculus Ready’ PCs from all of Oculus VR’s partners.
