The HTC Vive virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) had a big showing at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada. It might not have launched pre-orders like a certain other PC-based HMD, but HTC did reveal a brand new developer kit, named the Vive Pre. Said kit could be found in a number of locations throughout the event, and HTC itself has been taking a look at these offerings in two new videos below.
The first video showcases some of the areas showing off the Vive Pre on the first day of CES, while the second shows some for the day after that. For day one, we get a look at the Vive Pre on display with VirZoom, the Virtuix Omni, and Intel, which was exhibing creative VR app TiltBrush with the device. Day two sees the HTC team takes a look at a showcase from PC hardware manufacturer Dell as well as Envelop VR’s showcase of its virtual work environment.
Pre-orders for the HTC Vive will be opening next month, though a price and specific date are yet to be revealed. Following that the kit will go on sale in April 2016. Check back with VRFocus for the latest on the device.
