American Truck Simulator Released

SCS Software, well known for its driving simulation titles like virtual reality (VR) compatible title Euro Truck Simulator 2, has launched its latest videogameAmerican Truck Simulator.

Available through Valve’s Steam platform the title doesn’t specifically say it supports VR, but posts on Reddit confirm users have got American Truck Simulator working for their Oculus Rift DK2 head-mounted displays (HMDs).

American Truck Simulator

As the name suggests American Truck Simulator allows players to experience famous American trucks and deliver various cargoes across the landscapes of sunny California and sandy Nevada. SCS Software is also working on an Arizona expansion pack, which will be released as a free update to all owners of American Truck Simulator once development has finished.

American Truck Simulator isn’t solely about putting players in the seat of a driver for hire. You’ll enter the local freight market, have the option to work your way up to become an owner-operator, expanding your business to become a national transportation company.

Features include truck models officially licensed from iconic truck manufacturers, customisation options for changing cabins, chassis, paintjobs, adding tuning accessories or more powerful engines, multiple types of trailers –  reefers, flatbeds, dumpers, lowboys and goosenecks, listen to your favourite songs via the built-in music player or streaming your favourite radio stations and much more.

VRFocus will continue to follow any further updates from SCS Software on future VR support for American Truck Simulator.

  1. I heard that the game has got some pretty bad issues, but I hope the developers will release a patch or an update.
