GoPro and SkratchTV Collaborate with PGA TOUR for Immersive Partnership

The world of sport has seen companies like NextVR bring immersive 180-degree and 360-degree video content to consumers over the past year. Whether its been NBA, Nascar, football, boxing and more, virtual reality (VR) technology has enabled fans to start getting closer to the action. And now golf is getting the same treatment with a newly announced partnership between GoPro, SkratchTV and the PGA TOUR. The collaboration aims to deliver never-before-seen perspectives and episodic video content to golf fans around the world.

Debuting at this weeks Waste Management Phoenix Open, GoPro will use their 360-degree video capture technology to immerse golf fans in a VR experience from some of the most iconic locations in the game. This content will then be distributed on the GoPro Channel, the GoPro App, YouTube and GoPro’s social media channels.
