Overclockers UK In Partnership with HTC to Showcase VR Ready PC’s at VRWC

If you’ve been following virtual reality (VR) news for even a moment you’ll know that the PC-based head-mounted displays (HMDs), Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, require a reasonably powerful computer to run them. While hardcore PC gamers are likely building their own, the two headset companies are affiliating themselves with PC manufacturers to make it easy for consumers to get hold of a suitable system without too much tech knowledge. Now Overclockers UK has announced a partnership with HTC to make sure your ready for VR.

Through Overclockers UK VR enthusiasts will be able to purchase VR ready PC’s that have been tested in-house to meet the demanding requirements of VR. And in just over a months time the company will be attending Virtual Reality World Congress (VRWC) event in Bristol, UK during April with a selection of its hardware. The starting price for a VR ready PC from Overclockers UK begins at £749.00 GBP.

The online retailer also sells all the components needed to upgrade your PC should it not meet VR specifications. One of the most important components for a PC to run immersive VR is its graphics card, with the minimum recommendations being the AMD Radeon 390 graphics card, or the NVIDIA GTX 970. For the best performance you need a graphics card like the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980Ti or Titan X or AMD’s  R9 Nano, or Fury X.

The VRWC 2016 will be taking place on 12th April from 09:00 – 17:00 GMT, with a host of speakers and exhibitors in attendance. VRFocus will continue its coverage of the VRWC and HTC, reporting back any further announcements.
