Earlier this week Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) launched pre-orders for its launch bundle for the PlayStation VR virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD). Various retailers listed the kit for $499 USD, which is $100 more than the price of just the unit itself when it goes up for pre-order next week. Pre-orders sold out fast at various outlets, including online retailing giant Amazon. Don’t worry if you missed your first shot at pre-ordering the device, though, as another chance will be arriving later today.
Amazon Video Games has confirmed that more orders for the device will be open at 14:00 PT/17:00 ET today. Fans are eager to get their hands on the launch bundle for PlayStation VR in particular as it contains some essential components for actually using the device and running specific videogames. Aside from the HMD itself, there’s also the PlayStation Camera, used for tracking it and translating any movements you make into the give experience. There’s also two PlayStation Move motion controllers, needed to play certain titles, and a copy of SCE London Studio’s PlayStation VR Worlds.
If you already have a camera as many PlayStation 4 owners will do then you can pick up the core unit for $399 when pre-orders go live at 07:00 PT on 29th March 2016. It’s then up to you if you want to pick up a pair of PlayStation Moves and a copy of PlayStation VR Worlds.
