The VR Job Hub: Google, AMD & VREAL

Whether you’re an experienced designer, programmer, engineer, or maybe you’ve just been inspired after reading VRFocus articles – either way, you have stumbled across VRFocus’ job hub. The jobs listed here are located worldwide, from major game players to humble indie developers – the one thing they all have in common is that they are all jobs in VR.

Featured on this week’s list are: Google, makers of the cheap but highly effective Google Cardboard, seems like it is looking for a major expansion as it is looking for many people to join its VR team; AMD have another listing posted this week for a VR Developer Technology Engineer in the Sunshine State; and the upcoming ‘first platform for Virtual Reality game streaming and discovery’, VREAL, is looking for A Senior Backend Engineer and a Senior Software Engineer.

Something interesting to note is that many major companies are listing secret job titles that point towards their own expansion within VR. For example, during the past week there has been hearsay about Amazon (now not listed any more) and Snapchat both listing ambiguous jobs but not necessarily confirming if it is for VR. These aren’t officially listed as VRFocus can’t confirm if they are for VR, but it is something to keep in mind.

Look back at last week’s post for ongoing listings.
