Vuzix Showcasing iWear Technology at GDC 2016

Video eyewear and smart glasses manufacturer Vuzix is showcasing its iWear Video Headphones at GDC 2016.

The 2016 Game Developers Conference (GDC) features a host of technology from across the videogame industry. Attending the event is video eyewear and smart glasses manufacturer Vuzix, which has announced that it will be showcasing its iWear video headphones at the San Francisco event.

Attendees to the company’s stand will be able be able to demo the iWear which provides both video and gaming experiences. The video headphones are compatible with a range of devices that support HDMI output, such as such as smartphones, tablets, videogame consoles, PC’s and Blu-Ray players.

With SteamVR compatibility via OSVR, titles such as Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2 and Live for Speed are also supported by the iWear Video Headphones.

“GDC is the preeminent conference for game developers and we look forward to meeting with many of our existing partners and engaging with potential new ones at the industry’s largest and most established event,” said Paul Travers, President and CEO at Vuzix. “We are confident that developers who experience the iWear Video Headphones will agree that it offers a unique entertainment and gaming option.”

Features on the iWear include dual HD Displays that provide the equivalent of a 125″ TV from 10 feet and allows the wearer to watch 2D, 3D and 360-degree VR movies and even fly drones. It also includes an integrated battery, so consumers can use them at home or on-the-go.
