New VR Services Unit Deluxe VR Launches

First work on display at NAB next week.

Deluxe Entertainment Services, a global post-production company that’s worked for studios such as 20th Century Fox and Universal Studios, is today announcing that it’s getting into the virtual reality (VR) industry. The company has announced a new division focused on the tech named Deluxe VR, led by entertainment industry veteran Malte Wagener, which will be showcasing its first work at next week’s NAB 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Deluxe VR is a creative services unit based in Los Angeles, California, which will produce VR experiences for clients for promotional, entertainment and enterprise purposes. This includes 360 degree video and CG content. The company’s booth at NAB 2016 will feature two VR experiences, one of which will introduce users to the various components of an F14 fighter jet, while the other is an interactive story by the name of Reco.

“The way audiences and enterprises can experience media is evolving, and we have evolved our approach to production and post so that clients can create whatever they envision,” said Deluxe CEO John Wallace. “We’ve invested heavily in laying a strong technical foundation for our proprietary VR workflows and in building a dedicated VR team, with the ability to leverage the artistic and technical talent of Deluxe companies worldwide, to handle projects of any complexity and scale.”
