TECHNOLUST Now Available on Steam

No Vive support yet, though.

Last week saw indie developer IRIS VR launch its long in development virtual reality (VR) adventure, TECHNOLUST, onto the Oculus Home store for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). The release marked one of the very few updates made to the storefront itself since its launch with over 30 titles late last month. The title isn’t exclusive to Oculus Home, however, and IRIS VR has this week launched its title over on Steam too, though support for the HTC Vive HMD isn’t included just yet.

TECHNOLUST is available for £14.99 USD. The Steam listing for the title notes that customers require an Oculus Home account in order to play it through the Oculus Rift. It also mentions that the title accepts seated, standing and Room-Scale play areas, though doesn’t yet list the HTC Vive as a supported headset. It’s thought that such support will be added later on down the line. A spin-off title, TECHNOLUST: Scanlines, is in the works for Valve and HTC’s HMD however, along with the PlayStation VR HMD for PlayStation 4.

VRFocus awarded TECHNOLUST 4/5 in its review last week. “TECHNOLUST is a more than respectable experience set in a captivating world,” the review notes. “Though it has a number of flaws, it remains one of the most unique and interesting examples of indie development not just in VR, but in modern videogames as a whole. TECHNOLUST is a wonderful starting point for Renaud’s work in VR and a fitting reward for those who have waited to jump into the cyberpunk future promised by the arrival of this new medium.”
