3DRudder Now Multiplatform Thanks to Rewired’s Unity SDK

Rewired expands 3DRudder’s compatibility for developers.

3DRudder launched earlier this year as one of the few, if not the only, foot – based controller for virtual reality (VR), and now it has taken a stride into the mainstream now that Rewired supports the motion controller for feet.

Rewired has developed what is described as “an advanced input management system for Unity3D”, and has applied support for the 3DRudder, making the controller a potentially widely usable and developed for piece of hardware.

“Rewired enables developers to seamlessly integrate the 3DRudder motion controller along with a wide variety of other controllers across many platforms in just a few minutes,” says Stanislas Chesnais, CEO of 3DRudder. “Users who buy a 3DRudder will then experience a whole new level of motion control, whether in VR or in 3D. Their hands will be free to do more, letting their feet move them.”

Rewired allows developers to add cross-platform support for a wide range of hardware, from more familiar accessories such as keyboards, joysticks, and racing wheels, to more niche ones such as flight, ship and train simulator controllers.

The update and support is currently available to take advantage of. For more developments on the 3DRudder, as well as all the latest news and updates in the world of VR, make sure to check back with VRFocus.
