The VR Museum of Fine Art Releases Today For HTC Vive

There are no restrictions on how close you can get to the art in the virtual world.

There are very few gamers who haven’t been told that videogames will rot their minds and waste their time. Now you can push those people off their high horse with The VR Museum of Fine Art, which will release for the HTC Vive today.

Finn Sinclair, developer of The VR Museum of Fine Art, is fully aware of the benefit of having a touch of calm culture for the HTC Vive: “If you’ve been training to be a space pirate and building fantastical contraptions all day, the Museum is your ticket to a well-deserved break. Surround yourself with 1:1 scale sculptures and paintings, and we won’t tell anybody if you touch the merchandise! No rope barriers or glass walls here. Feel free to explore the artwork however you see fit. Roomscale VR lets you walk around, duck under, and even hug the life-sized figures. ”

That’s right – there are no guards telling you to stop getting close to the art work, not to take pictures, and cut out hugging the sculptures – which there are 15 of in this title.

There are four exhibits, all themed and each piece of art is rendered in crisp detail. The art isn’t all that is featured, and there are holographic plaques next to each piece, “That does involve reading, though, and that’s a lot of work.”.

There will be additional features added, including more art, and even a cafe to round off the full simulation of being in a museum.

It will be available later today, but the price has not been shared just yet.
