Vuzix to Showcase Pokémon GO on M100 Smart Glasses in Japan During CEDEC

There will also be a demonstration of Fighter Base on its iWear Video Headphones.

It was previously hinted that Vuzix Corporation had been toying with the idea of bringing Pokémon GO to its augmented reality (AR) M100 Smart Glasses, but now this time it’s for real, and they will be showcasing it this year at the Computer Entertainment Developers Conference 2016 (CEDEC).

Although it’s not quite as vivid as what the previous video released by the AR tech company shows – in fact it is a little lower quality than the actual app as you can see from the video below demonstrating it – Pokémon GO is still mirrored onto the Smart Glasses.

How this will work is by mirroring Pokémon GO from a smartphone t the M100 Smart Glasses over a wi-fi connection. Rather than still holding the phone, the Pochiru BT Controller will be used, as seen in the video also, where minimal movement needs to be made, therefore taking away the technology that will reduce the immersibility.

As well as the M100 Smart Glasses, Vizux will also be bringing along its iWear Video Headphones, which will be running Fighter Base. Mark Vange of Fighter Base LLC said in a press release: “The Fighter Base team is excited to feature support for the iWear in our upcoming Massively Multiplayer VR flight combat game. Adding iWear support was very quick and easy and the thoughtful physical design means that long term testing and play are very comfortable.”

The CEDEC 2016 will be taking place at the Pacifico Yokohama Conference Center in Japan from the 24th to 26th August, so it shall all kick off tomorrow.
