See and Avoid the Future in zTime (Danger Noodles!) for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift

There’s a 15% discount currently available for the videogame.

It’s not always the easiest task coming up with new and original ideas for videogames, although working in virtual reality (VR) does give some scope for coming up with something unique. Today Hazardous Software has released a puzzle title on Steam Early Access that allows players to see the course of the future, thus changing their strategy to suit the videogames ever changing levels.

Called zTime (Danger Noodles!), the mechanics are fairly simple, guide a ball through a series of rooms in which various obstacles have to be avoided. The twist is that players can see the direction and route of these objects as well their ball several seconds ahead.

These future paths are visualised in 3D beneath the floor of each of these rooms, and the paths can make up a swirling mass of colourful pipes – hence the ‘danger noodles! Its then up to players to carefully watch where all these different noodles twist and turn, and guide their ball accordingly, changing directions as and when needed. Each of the noodles also has several white markers at equal intervals, indicating the time it takes to travel – each one relates to one second.

The title should be in early access for around 2 – 4 months. The studio doesn’t expect to add any further features to zTime (Danger Noodles!) in that time, simply just improving the core game by ironing out any bugs and glitches players find.

Hazardous Software is running a limited time discount promotion for zTime (Danger Noodles!) until 31st October. Steam users will be able to get 15 percent off the regular price, dropping the cost from £3.99 GBP to £3.39.

VRFocus will continue its coverage of VR releases on Steam, reporting back with further arrivals.
