Back in October VRFocus reported on visual effects studio Digital Domain partnering with Gyro AS and Warner Bros to live-stream the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize Concert this month. Today the studio has announced the event will be headlined by Sting.

“Our mission for the concert series is to utilize emerging technologies such as virtual reality to amplify the most prestigious award in the world, bringing the concert to life,” said Olav Njolstad, Director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute. “To connect with the next generation of global citizens, we’re embracing new media to stay relevant with a broader and younger audience across borders. We welcome Digital Domain’s partnership and are certain they will be a vital and significant part of this initiative and others in the coming years.”
The 2016 Nobel Peace Prize Concert will take place on 11th December in Oslo, Norway. For any further announcements from Digital Domain, keep reading VRFocus.
