Official English Website Launched for Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories

There’s no date yet but a western release is looking good.

While Japanese videogames do see releases in the west, more often than not, gamers need to import titles to have any chance of playing them. This is even more difficult for virtual reality (VR) content which is predominantly digital. Recently Granzilla Inc. – which is making Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories for PlayStation 4 with support for PlayStation VR – revealed an official English language version for the project, fueling the possibility of a western release.

Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories takes place in a city recently hit by a major earthquake. Having newly arrived in the city to find work, players must now try to escape the collapsing city, exploring the area, meeting other people trying to survive. All the while being wary of aftershocks that could see buildings topple and crush them to death.

While the English website features a short Q&A saying that Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories is PlayStation 4 exclusive, no (Japanese) release date has been set, and that PlayStation VR is an additional feature, its the Japanese website that reveals further teasing information about a western launch. On the question of an overseas release Granzilla notes: “Although the release time is undecided, we are also considering sales in North America, Europe and Asia.”

And in January Granzilla will be launching a VR demo for Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories reports Gematsu, ten minutes of which can be seen below.
