Whether it’s beer, whiskey, vodka, pop or any other drink you can think of, a lot of brands are now using virtual reality (VR) as a means of promotion. The latest comes from Poliakov, which makes vodka, with an interactive VR experience called Ice Quest.
Poliakov wanted to create a unique freezing and futuristic universe through an immersive VR videogame, so the company created Ice Quest for the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD). A first-person shooter, players must explore this snow covered land facing the many perils that await.
A few lucky Poliakov fans got the opportunity to experience Ice Quest with HTC Vive at a recent event. They were able to wander freely in a 25 sq/m area, mastering the quest throughout the different levels and interacting with the Poliakov universe.
Then in November, Poliakov gave fans around the world the opportunity to discover the Ice Quest through three behind-the-scenes videos mixing players into the ICe Quest virtual universe.
In addition to the three normal videos, the company has also released a 360-degree trailer for the experience. These can all be seen below. Poliakov has yet stated if the VR experience will see a wider consumer release, if it does VRFocus will let you know.
