Joinery Partners with Rapid VR to Expand Storytelling Capabilities

Expect to see more VR content from the production company.

Joinery, a Los Angeles-based hub for pairing directors with advertising agencies, brands and musicians, has announced a partnership with Australian virtual reality (VR) production company Rapid VR, becoming its new US base for VR and 360-degree development.

The collaboration will see Joinery provide the bricks and mortar infrastructure, production resources and creative culture to further Rapid VR’s reach into the global marketplace.

Executive Producer Elliot Lucas said in a statement: “We were looking for a VR/360° partner that would complement the production offering Joinery already has and push us further into the worlds of next level storytelling. With Rapid VR, we’ve linked up with the best in the game, granting brands, advertisers and adventurers in our marketplace access to one of the world’s leading producers of truly immersive content.”

Rapid VR - Jeb Corliss

Rapid VR has worked with some big name clients including Samsung, Lexus, Audi, GoPro, Coors Light and Qantas, with projects such as World Surf League film Get Barreled in Tahiti and last year The Human Arrow, a documentary which chronicled Jeb Corliss, famed wingsuit pilot, as he attempted to fly over the Great Wall of China at 120mph and hit a target the size of a small apple.
Rapid VR’s recent collaboration with Samsung saw them craft two 4D VR rides for their booth at CES 2017. One stunt enabled attendees to experience an airshow from a pilot’s perspective via a 4D chair, while the other ride dropped viewers into an exotic dinghy adventure via the newly introduced simulator.
Joinery and Rapid VR will work together, connecting their clients with immersive content production, with Joinery’s production team guiding each project every step of the way. As further details on their collaborative efforts are released VRFocus will keep you updated.
