VR Golf Online Adds Multiplayer and Cross-Platform Support in Major Update

Oculus Touch adds another title to its library.

Earlier this month Kakao Games launched VR Golf Online for HTC Vive having previously released the title on Oculus Rift last year. VRFocus reviewed the experience, being critical of its lack of online multiplayer options, which today has been rectified with a major new update.

Owners of VR Golf Online will now have the option of a multiplayer mode to actually play against opponents online. In addition to that, Kakao Games has included cross-platform support enabling Oculus Rift and HTC Vive users to fight it out on the fairway.

Complimenting these features will be real-time voice chat, so players can talk with friends or simply berate them to miss a shot. Switchable first and third-person views are now available, which may help players with their shots, and the Oculus version sees further language support, with French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Simplified Chinese now on offer.

Oculus Rift owners also get one further feature, that is Oculus Touch support. So they can either chose to use the Xbox One controller, or for a more immersive experience use Touch if available.

VR Golf Online has 36 hazard-filled courses to play through with five characters to chose from, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. As Kakao Games updates the title further, VRFocus will keep you posted.
