New Developer Focused Event Devcom Comes to Gamescom 2017

Organisers are inviting industry experts to submit presentation ideas.

The annual Gamescom event in Germany is one of the largest in the world – certainly in Europe – and now it’s set to get even bigger. Gamescom organisers have announced a brand-new developer event that will make its debut this summer called devcom.

For the industry focused event a call has now been put out for industry experts and insiders to submit their ideas, topics and other suggestions for suitable sessions.

The inaugural developer conference will focus on virtual reality (VR), mobile videogames, business and production. While submissions are encouraged around these subjects other topics may also include: programming, design, audio, diversity, monetization and eSports. The window for submissions closes on 11th April 2017.

Additionally, on top of panel discussions and keynote speeches devcom will also play host to workshops, summits, master classes and matchmaking.

The devcom Master Classes will include two-hour round table discussions for up to 40 participants each, focused on marketing, game design and production as well as sales. devcom tutorials allow for hands-on tutorial sessions, up to four a day, on cutting-edge technologies, game engines and advertising tools. While the devcom summits are three one-day summits with a focus on mobile gaming, VR and monetization.

Tickets for devcom are already available with early bird discounts on offer. This drops ticket prices by 15 percent, so a student pass is 59.00 EUR (excluding fees), while the all access VIP pass is 1,019.15 EUR. The early bird deals end on 12th May.
