Pokémon GO may have been last summers videogame phenomenon, crashing servers worldwide, and causing all sorts of chaos with players wandering here, there and everywhere to catch those elusive digital creatures. While the furore has certainly died down developer Niantic Labs is keeping interest alive with a new promotion next week called Pokémon GO Adventure Week.
Starting on 18th May 1pm PT/9pm GMT, and running until 25th May at 1pm PT/9pm GMT, Pokémon GO Adventure Week will increase the encounter rates for Rock-type Pokémon such as Omanyte, Kabuto, and their Evolutions, as well as higher rates for some of the more elusive Rock-type Pokémon like Aerodactyl, Onix, and Sudowoodo.
Additionally, the week long promotion will see more items awarded from every PokéStop players visit, and Poké Balls will be 50 percent off in the in-game shop. Buddy Pokémon will also find Candy after walking only one quarter the usual distance and a brand-new avatar wardrobe item, the Adventurer’s Hat, will also be added to all Trainers wardrobes for free.
Pokémon GO Adventure Week continues as almost monthly promotion this year from Niantic. During April there was the Easter Eggstravaganza, giving trainers a greater variety of Pokémon from 2km eggs including those usually found in 5km or 10km eggs. While in March there was the Global Water Festival, with increased sights of water-type Pokémon such as Magikarp and Squirtle.
