Oculus Roles Out 1.15 Update to Improve Roomscale Support

The full release notes have now gone live.

Earlier this month Oculus announced the next update for its head-mounted display (HMD) with version 1.15. Oculus Rift users were able to preview it via the company’s Public Test Channel, and now everyone will get the new software from today.

The big inclusion in v1.15 is full roomscale support for those who own more than two of the sensors, a feature that was dubbed ‘experimental’ until now. 360-degree tracking, whether users sit, stand, or use roomscale, should now work as intended for a 3-sensor configuration, while 360-degree tracking using just two sensors is still marked as experimental. For those with a 4-sensor setup that should also see a marked improvement.

Also included in the update are further smaller addition such as the Oculus Rift’s HDMI not being plugged into the most appropriate GPU, a notification when users antivirus software blocks the installation of an app, and updated health and safety information.
