Oculus Connect Keynotes in 360-Degrees

Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR users will be able to watch Oculus Connect 4 keynotes in VR for the first time.

This week sees the return of the Oculus Connect conference for its fourth year. Several announcements are expected, and keynote speeches from key figures in Oculus ad Facebook. Several of those keynotes will be available to watch through livestream, including an option to watch in 360-degrees using a virtual reality (VR) headset.

For those who cannot attend the event but wish to be more involved with proceedings, several of the keynote speeches will be available to watch in 360-degrees on Oculus Rift or Samsung Gear VR using the Oculus Connect app, which is available for free on both platforms. This will mark the first time a VR livestream of the event has been offered, something that many tech fans have been asking for for quite some time.

Features keynotes will be delivered by the likes of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerburg, and vice president of VR Hugo Barra. On Thursday 12th October, Oculus Chief Technology Officer John Carmack will be delivering his keynote, which is likely to delve deeply into the technology, with most analysts expecting an emphasis or mobile VR technology.

Experts are anticipating a raft of announcements and reveals during the two-day event. Many are expecting news on the standalone ‘Santa Cruz’ Oculus Rift prototype, which was first unveiled at the 2016 Oculus Connect.

The event is taking place on 11th and 12th October, at the McEnery Convention Centre in San Jose, California.

VRFocus will continue to bring you the latest news from Oculus Connect.
