WAR of the AI introduces utilises the popular ‘Man vs. Machine’ science-fiction theme as the setting for a fully 360 degree AR environment. Players must stay alive by destroying the robotic enemies while collecting upgraded weapons and first aid kits along the way. Levels integrate night vision, rain and snow for realism, and feature the ability to play room-scale or a miniaturised version where the robots look like toys.

Built using the native iOS ARKit, which includes automatic ground detection, the videogame has been designed for both indoor and outside gameplay. WAR of the AI also allows players to hide behind AR created objects in the room as an additional layer of protection as you fight.

WAR of the AI came to fruition shortly after an invitation to speak in South Korea on the state of the VR market in America. The debut title from Trailblazing VR, development on WAR of the AI was completed in just two months.

“I decided this is what I wanted to do, to use cutting edge technology like AR and VR to create something incredible and this game is just the beginning”, says April Bliz of Trailblazing VR. In an industry where many startups struggle, Bliz remains optimistic: “I don’t give the word failure any life. I don’t talk about, I don’t think about it and I don’t allow it to be an option,” she continued.
