Gravity and VR Combine as GraviTrax Comes to North America

GraviTrax will be sold in the US starting 16th April, 2018.

Toys can be fun as well as educational and its with this in mind that German toy company Ravensburger AG created its GraviTrax construction system to help teach kids about gravity. First launched in Germany in 2017, Ravensburger AG has announced that GraviTrax will be sold in the US starting 16th April, 2018.

Created by the newly formed Innovation Lab at Ravensburger, GraviTrax offers an extensive track system and accessories that provide endless possibilities and challenges for any STEM or building enthusiast.

Designed for ages 8 and above, the GraviTrax Starter Set comes with over 100 pieces and 18 unique action parts allowing customers to build their own custom tracks or follow GraviTrax design guides for inspiration. Adjust and control the speed with customizable track heights, and then release three marbles simultaneously letting gravity, magnetism and kinetics drive their fate as they race through the tracks and test their design.

While this all sounds great but where’s the virtual reality (VR)? Ravensburger has created a free app for Gravitrax on Android and iOS devices that lets users create track ideas and watch them come to life start to finish in digital form before actually building them. VR comes into play after they’ve digitally built the track users can either watch how it works on a flat screen, or use a VR headset like Google Cardboard or Merge VR to watch the action take place.

GraviTrax will be available in the US starting from 16th April. It’ll retail from $59.99 USD with additional accessories and expansion packs, including the ‘cannon,’ ‘hammer,’ and ‘loop,’ sold separately, ranging in pricing from $9.99$24.99.
