Technology company Streem, known for connecting home service professionals to their customers though on-demand intelligent video, has now announced an additional £2 million (USD) in funding from new and existing investors.
Streem have recently also announced advanced augmented reality (AR) features built on Google’s ARCore platform and won the Innovation Award for “Apps, Platforms, and Software” at Mobile World Congress. This means now that the Streem app is able to not only connect customers to service professionals but is able to support AR features that lets users direct each other with arrows, lines and other AR objects. Thanks to its use of AR and the productivity benefits it offers the Streem app is currently being features by Google.
The new round of funding sees the total reach more than £3.7 million (USD) as new funding investments come from Archivist Capital, Orgeon Venture Fund, and Portland Seed Fund along with additional support from existing investors Flying Fish, Rogue Venture Partners and Betaworks Ventures. This is all to help accelerate the company’s growth into the $400 billion (USD) home service market, for which Streem also recently named a board of advisors that brings together venerated leaders in computer vision, business strategy, and the home services industry.

The newly announced Board of Advisors includes the following members who will help Streem which their growth into the new markets:
- Serge Belongie, PhD: Professor at Cornell Tech and Cornell University, Visiting Faculty at Google, renowned researcher in computer vision and machine learning, and co-founder of several companies
- Christopher Croteau: Broad experience ranging from software ecosystems to strategic partnerships, now General Manager of AR business in Intel’s New Devices Group which has enabled AR consumer products as well as platforms for enterprise and industrial segments
- Eric Doebele: Home services pioneer as founder of HandymanOnline.com (acquired), ReliableRemodeler.com (acquired) and Board Member at Second Porch (acquired), now serves as board member and advisor to multiple startups
- Joseph Tou: Vice President of Corporate Development and Sony Innovation Fund, Sony Corporation of America

The Streem Pro app is currently available for home service professionals to access including a free trial period with customers able to be invited to the customer app by a professional. Both apps are compatible with Android and iOS mobile devices.
