Puzzle Title Rooms: The Unsolvable Puzzle Comes to PlayStation VR

Spooky-themed puzzle title lands on PlayStation VR.

Developer PrismPlus have created a virtual reality (VR) sequel to its previous title Rooms: The Main Building, which was a final-round nominee in the Independent Games Festival. Rooms: The Unsolvable Puzzle is out now on the PlayStation Store, compatible with the PlayStation VR.

In Rooms: The Unsolvable Puzzle involves the player trying to help a girl called Anne escape a large mansion filled with a succession of puzzle-like rooms. The title previously had a release on Steam for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

The solve the various puzzles, players will have access to a number of gadgets. As you progress the puzzles become more challenging and more gadgets are needed to solve the puzzle. The rooms themselves can be moves around, similar to a sliding puzzle.

The artwork and atmosphere in Rooms: The Unsolvable Puzzle is described as fairy-tale like, with the mansion being filled with magical objects and spooky stories. As the player and Anne progress through the various puzzles, the story will unfold, revealing the dark history of the mansion.

There are 144 stages, with 94 of those being part of the main story, with 48 special basement stages which act as side-stories to add to the main story. The basement areas allow Anne to use a cellphone to teleport, place bombs in certain areas and also grants here the ability to move all the rooms at once.

A great deal of emphasis has been placed on the soundtrack, which the developers hope will provide a suitable feeling and atmosphere to help immersive players in the world inside the spooky mansion. The soundtrack is also available as a DLC download.

There are two different endings for players to find, challenging players to get the best ending.

Rooms: The Unsolvable Puzzle is available on the PlayStation Store, priced at $13.99 (USD), with the soundtrack available to download for an additional $0.99.
