Vuzix Completes FCC And EU CE Certification Processes For Their Blade Smart Glasses

Volume manufacturing of the Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses has begun.

Augmented reality (AR) technology company Vuzix has announced that it has completed, passed, and filed with the US Federal Communication Commission (FCC) all of the emission’s requirements for its next generation Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses.In additional to this, the company has also completed the European Union CE emission’s certification process related to the Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses.

Vuzix is a leading supplier of AR technologies, products, and smart glasses for consumer and enterprise markets with their Blade Smart Galsses being a widely recognised product within many sectors. With the news of their successful certification processes, the company is now one more step closer to deliver their next generation of AR smart glasses which will build on the already successful and solid foundation of their current offerings.

“Volume manufacturing of the Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses from our West Henrietta, NY facility has commenced.” said Paul Travers, President and Chief Executive Officer at Vuzix: “With FCC and EU certifications processes now complete we can commence broad shipping of our Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses to the application and enterprise Vuzix Blade Edge developer communities located within the USA, Canada and Europe,”


Recently Vuzix also highlighted their upcoming business developments including the expectation that revenues for 2018 will exceed those of 2017, with a number of factor influencing this boost. The company also has over 750 existing pilot schemes ongoing for the M300 smart glasses, with many others in the process of launching. As for orders, several existing customers have already placed follow-on orders and the company expects more to do so shortly.

Back in early June Vuzix also launched their developer center to provide resources for those looking to build applications using their smart glasses. This resource not only aims to get developers up and run with building for AR in as little time as possible. Once more, the Blade Smart Glasses Developer Center includes example code and projects, along with plenty of documentation, to ensure that even those will little experience building AR applications can still learn how to do so, opening up the doors to future developers and content creators.
