Bow And Arrow Tower Defense Game Dungeon Rush Takes Flight On Steam

The dead want your castle. They’ve made a grave mistake.

Exploring through the hidden depths of a dungeon to discover what horrors and treasures lay within has formed a significant part of fantasy fiction is various forms, from literature to table-top gaming and, of course, videogames. Dungeon Rush switches this around a bit, and puts the player in the position of trying to defend their castle and its precious dungeons against invaders.

Dungeon Rush is pitched as a colourful fantasy adventure where the player is armed with a bow and a quiver full of arrows ad sent to defend the castle against hordes of invading undead monsters intent on pillaging and destroying everything in sight.

Players will face skeleton warriors, mages and archers, among others who all need to be stopped before your castle is wrecked and burgled. As players progress, different bows with more powerful effects can be unlocked, making destroying your foes a little easier.

Between waves of enemies there are destroyable items around for players to practice their aiming skills on, or to see what new effects have been unlocked with a newly-upgrade bow. Ragdoll physics on enemies means that players can make enemies pull any number of hilarious poses on death.

The developers at independent studio White Rhino Games are aiming to provide a challenging title that is also fun and intuitive for both veteran virtual reality (VR) players as well as those who are picking up a tracked motion controller for the first time.

The development team are currently working on adding new levels to the title for an additional challenge and are also planning a free demo version which is said to be made available ‘soon’.

Dungeon Rush VR is available on Steam and is compatible with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality. Curiously, the Oculus Rift DK2 is also specifically mentioned in the compatibility list. It is priced at £5.79 (GBP).

Further information and updates can be found on the Steam Store page. As usual, VRFocus will keep you updated on new and upcoming VR titles.
