The three new NVIDIA GeForce cards which have been announced are the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, which is the flagship card, the most powerful of the new line. There is also the GeForce RTX 2080 and the GeForce RTX 2070.

As part of the new unveiling, NVIDIA also released a new video, which showed details specifications for the new cards, detailing their advanced capabilities, and showing the twin-fan design, along with details of each individual component and boasting of its capabilities, even when compared to the previous top-of-the-line GPU from NVIDIA.

One of the major selling points o the new GeForce RTX GPU line is the RTX system, which allows for real-time ray tracing, something which has been considered a ‘holy grail’ of computer graphics technology, and which allows for far more realistic lighting and shadows, giving new depth to videogames.

Considering that realism and immersion is a cornerstone of virtual reality (VR), this capability will no doubt enable developers to craft new and impressive virtual worlds and environments. The video is available to view below, and the new GPUs will be on store shelves from 20th September, 2018.
