UK gamers looking for virtual reality (VR) deals are getting some good offers of late, with GAME providing a discount on the Oculus Quest 2 whilst Curry’s PC World currently has two bundles going. At the moment you can get an Oculus Quest 2 and an Elite Strap starting from £319 GBP.
Currently, the retailer is offering the 64GB version of the Oculus Quest 2 and the Elite Strap for £319 while the 256GB model retails for £419. That nets you a saving of £29 over buying them separately, as the Elite Strap retails for £49 normally. Quite a good deal if you’re not too keen on the soft strap supplied with the headset. Plus, add the promo code FNDDGAMING and you’ll get free next day delivery.
There’s no indication as to whether this is a limited-time promotion or whilst stocks last, but its probably safe to say with few Oculus Quest 2 deals about, these will get snapped up.
The headset launched back in October 2020, £100 cheaper than the original 2019 model with better performance, a smaller design and reduced weight. It’s been a big success with initial sales exceeding Facebook’s expectations and developer revenue exceeding $1 million on over 60 titles. Since the launch Oculus Quest 2 has seen continual updates to improve its features, from Facebook Messenger and “Hey Facebook” voice commands to Multi-User Accounts and App Sharing.
Recently, Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that development of Oculus Quest 3 and 4 are underway due to the fact hardware takes so long to develop. If you’re thinking of holding off on buying an Oculus Quest 2 because of that news you’ll be waiting a while. Considering the timeline between the first and second models, it’ll likely be at least 2022 before the third iteration arrives.
Plus there’s loads of great content to enjoy now, from native titles like The Climb 2, Mare, Jurassic World Aftermath and Myst to PC VR titles on the Oculus Store and Steam. For further updates on the latest VR deals, keep reading VRFocus.
